 Abortion from Syariah perspective


• Allowed abortion before 120 days for the following reasons :
i. Harm to mother
ii. Husband and wife agrees
iii. Specialist recommendation that abortion is safe
iv. To concentrate taking care of current children

• Obligations on terminated foetus :
i. If more than 120 days, need to follow the religious rites as normally done to other Muslim people
ii. If less than 120 days, no need to follow religious rites as normally done to other Muslim people, but burial ground must be in Muslim cementery
